A Few Words About Me
Tami Weyl was a senior lecturer at the Rothberg International School for Foreign Students in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Tami Weyl has been serving as the director of the pre-academic program for new immigrants at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Tami Weyl has dedicated her career in educational content development of the studies of the Hebrew language. She has published educational books, students booklets and even a series of computer applications designed to enrich vocabulary, grammar and proper use of language. Tami has been a member of of the education committee of the Hebrew department at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem since 1979. She strongly believes in the effectiveness of the combination between language acquisition and computers, and in taking an active part in making your dreams a reality. Therefore, she has been developing multimedia applications for teaching Hebrew since 1990.
Education
Tami Weyl holds a B.A. degree in Hebrew Language and Sociology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She also has an Education Certificate with the specialization in Hebrew Language and Literature. In 1982, Tami Weyl was endowed of the Hebrew Language on behalf of the Committee for Language Endowment.
Professional Experience
Tami Weyl is an experienced academic educator and academic content developer. She has taught countless Hebrew courses in various institutions to teachers and students from all around the world, including the prestigious Sorbonne University in Paris, France. As part of her position in the Hebrew department, she has been teaching Hebrew, writing materials for academic courses and exams, advising, and managing. She is experienced with linguistic counseling to the Ministry of Education in France and is a member of a research team at the School of Education in Israel. Together with other colleagues, Tami Weyl has published several books and academic articles on various topics concerning the Hebrew language.

A Few Words About Me
Shira Cohen-Regev finds the combination of teaching Hebrew and e-learning appealing and challenging and enjoys every minute of virtually teaching Hebrew. Shira believes in virtual schools and online education. Shira is one of the leaders at the Ministry-of-Education of Gender-Equality Unit. She has also developed and taught online courses in professional development for teachers. Shira has a passion for teaching and writing and she incorporates these passions into all of her occupations. She is believes that the best way to teach a language to children and adults is by working with the students on an individual and small-group basis.
Education
Shira Cohen-Regev holds an M.A. degree in Child Development and Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania.
Professional Experience
Shira Cohen-Regev specializes in education and the development of educational programs. She has been teaching classes, both to students and teachers, for over 20 years. Shira taught and tutored Hebrew as a Second Language at the University of Pittsburgh. Here at the Israel Institute of Biblical Studies, she taught online courses of all levels of Hebrew and developed content for Modern Hebrew courses. She is also the developer of the academic course of Biblical Hebrew at the Israel Institute of Biblical Studies. Currently, Shira is training and instructing new teachers of Modern & Biblical Hebrew at the Israel Institute of Biblical Studies..

Hello! Nice to meet you!
In this unit we’ll get acquainted with the teacher and with our classmates, and then we’ll start learning and enjoying.
This unit will introduce the different parts of the body and will refresh some verbs and conjugations.
Doctor, I am in pain!
In this unit we’ll learn how to describe our symptoms to the doctor.
We'll also learn how to identify feminine nouns, and learn the names of basic colors.
Would you like to work at the bank?
In this unit we will learn verbs and infinitives and practice using them. We will also discuss the pros and cons of certain jobs.
Buying vegetables at the market.
Israeli culture thrives on eating and cooking local vegetables from the marketplace. This unit will teach you how to engage in conversation on your next trip to the Israeli shuk (marketplace.)
Fruit salad.
What do you do when you feel that you'd studied for too long? –Prepare fruit salad, of course. Today we will learn about the tasty ingredients of this delicious dish.
The weather.
In this unit we will learn about the weather, the seasons, and the conjugation of the prepositions "?" and "??".
David Ben-Gurion.
David Ben Gurion was the primary founder of the State of Israel and the first Prime Minister of Israel. In this unit we will learn about him and his life after retiring from political activity. By following a typical day of his life, we will learn about time expressions and the verbal group of ?? and ??.
Clothes.
This unit will teach you some of the words that will help you in describing clothes.
Transportation.
In this unit we’ll learn about all the different forms of public transportation to help you get around Israel in the best and quickest ways possible.
A Tour of the Old City of Jerusalem.
Would you like to tour Jerusalem's old city? Join the Cohens and their tour guide and visit the holy places and even put a note in the Kotel!
Israeli Breakfast.
Our class goes to a coffee shop to enjoy an Israeli breakfast. We will learn about the different ingredients of the breakfast menu such as different cheese and eggs. We will also learn the verb group of "??????".
Bete'avon!
Tiberius Marathon.
In this unit we are going to train for the lowest marathon of the world – The Tiberias Marathon, and participate in it. We will learn words and verbs related to sport.
The kitchen is small.
In this unit we will elaborate our understanding of noun and adjective forms.
We will also learn to understand and say sentences without verbs.
"Ulpan" in the Central Station.
In this unit we’ll join a newcomer to Israel who has a brilliant idea to practice Hebrew. We will study how to pluralize irregular nouns, learn about the demonstrative pronouns (???, ????, ????), and about the prepositions “?”, “?” and “?” combined with the definite article.
Domestic cat, alley cat.
In this unit we'll learn about combining noun constructs. Understanding noun constructs and the ability to create them will broaden and enrich our manner of expression in Hebrew.
Special Wedding.
In this unit we'll accompany a special couple, Ya'akov and Anna, from being soldiers with no family in Israel who volunteered to serve in the IDF, to becoming a family.
We will also study the inflection of the preposition "??" and the transition of direct and indirect speech.
It’s Useful to Learn Hebrew.
In this unit we will learn a children's song about all the things one is obliged to do.
We will also learn the infinitive combinations and how to construct sentences which refer to things that are allowed or forbidden, possible and impossible.
Nobody knows where my cellphone is.
In this unit we'll follow an original way of revealing a lost cellphone. We will study the use of double negative expressions (never, nothing…) in Hebrew.
Review and goodbye.
It's time to say goodbye, but first, let's review what we have studied in our course: vocabulary, grammar, and some of the stories we read.
We cannot say goodbye without giving some farewell presents to our classmates. But, in a virtual class we give virtual presents – pictures are enough?.
